Here is the info for the Tuesday zoo field trip:
- Due to space on the bus, parents are encouraged to drive up and meet us at the zoo. We will begin loading the bus at 9:45 am and will leave at 10:00am and will drive directly up to the zoo.
- Parents must definitely let me know by 6pm on Monday if you are going to go so that I can assign student groups.
- Each group will have 2-3 parents as chaperones. There will be 5-10 students in each group. Groups must walk through the zoo as a unit; 2-3 parents must be watching over all of the students in their group throughout the entire field trip. (You cannot divide into smaller subgroups with just one parent watching over 2-3 kids and moving through the zoo by yourselves.)
- The zoo may require parents to pay. In past years, they have not done this, but they tell us each year that it could be a possibility.
- Chaperoning parents do NOT need to buy the children snacks or other trinkets from the zoo. This expectation will be reinforced with the children before we leave. We will return and have a picnic on our school grounds after the trip to the zoo. (You are welcome to stay for the picnic also).
- We have enough parent volunteers already signed up, however, if you still would like to come, that is possible. You must drive up and meet us there.
- Students must ride in the bus to the zoo and must ride home in the bus from the zoo. (You cannot 'check them out from school' at the end of the field trip while still at the zoo.)
